MCC Baseball Ranked 7th Nationally

From School Reports

The Meridian Community College baseball program learned Wednesday morning that it has been ranked among some of the top junior college baseball programs in the nation. The Eagles earned a ranking of 7th according to the first NJCAA Division II Baseball Poll of the 2016 spring season. MCC baseball is currently enjoying a great deal of success on the diamond this spring with an overall record of 27-7 and 12-5 on conference play.

LSU-Eunice was voted as the unanimous number one team in the nation among all Division II programs, while Jones County Junior College was ranked 4th in the nation according to the newly released poll. East Central Community College was the other lone school from the MACJC to debut in the poll with a ranking of 20th, while Northwest Mississippi Community College received some votes for the poll as well.

The 7th ranked Eagles will return to action this Saturday at Scaggs Field with a conference doubleheader against Holmes Community College beginning at 3 p.m.
