MCC Baseball Ranked 7th Nationally

The Meridian Community College baseball program learned
Wednesday morning that it has been ranked among some of the top junior college
baseball programs in the nation. The Eagles earned a ranking of 7th according
to the first NJCAA Division II Baseball Poll of the 2016 spring season. MCC
baseball is currently enjoying a great deal of success on the diamond this
spring with an overall record of 27-7 and 12-5 on conference play.
LSU-Eunice was voted as the unanimous number one team in the
nation among all Division II programs, while Jones County Junior College was
ranked 4th in the nation according to the newly released poll. East Central
Community College was the other lone school from the MACJC to debut in the poll
with a ranking of 20th, while Northwest Mississippi Community College received
some votes for the poll as well.
The 7th ranked Eagles will return to action this
Saturday at Scaggs Field with a conference doubleheader against Holmes
Community College beginning at 3 p.m.
