MCC Baseball Splits Road Set at PRCC

The Meridian Community College Eagles returned to action
on Saturday with a road conference doubleheader at Pearl River Community
College where both teams had no problems finding runs.
The Eagles came away with a split against the Wildcats by
winning Game One of the twin bill by a final of 15-13 and falling in Game Two
by a final of 11-10.
MCC moved its overall record to 26-6 overall and 11-5 in
conference action. MCC will return to the diamond with a road conference
doubleheader at East Central Community College on Wednesday beginning at 4 p.m.
The Eagles opened up its doubleheader with PRCC on
Saturday by taking a wild 15-13 victory. MCC had four players in the lineup with
at least three hits apiece by the end of the two-run victory.
Kyle Bayles finished Game One with two doubles, one
single, three runs scored, and one RBI. Luke Craig also had a solid Game One
with a homer, double, single, and three RBI's. Eason Weeks also added two runs
scored on three hits, while Daniel Hill drove in one run on three hits.
Matt Berler also checked in with two doubles and two
RBI's in the opening game victory for the Eagles.
Spencer Price picked up the pitching win out of the bullpen
for the Eagles by working 4 1/3 innings and collecting four strikeouts.
Pearl River was able to salvage the split in Game Two by
scoring two runs in the final inning of play to slip past MCC by a final of
11-10.
Kyle Bayles led MCC at the plate in Game Two with four
hits and two RBI's, while Baylor Obert had three singles in the loss. Chase
Coker also drove in a pair of runs on three singles for the Eagles and Matt
Berler also scored twice in the setback.
Bukhari Brown suffered the pitching loss out of the
bullpen by working 1 1/3 innings and notching one strikeout.
