Lady Eagle softball picks up sweep

The Meridian Community College Lady Eagle softball team picked up their first win of 2009 Thursday afternoon.

MCC defeated Bishop State 8-5 in game one of a double header at Tommy McDonald Field.

In game two, Stephanie Stevens broke up a 7-7 tie in the fourth inning with a two run homerun that gave MCC a 9-7 lead. From there, the Lady Eagles never looked back and registered a 15-7 vicotry and sweep of visiting Bishop State.

With the sweep, MCC improved to 2-7 on the year and now rides a two game winning streak into Tuscaloosa Staurday when they travel to face Shelton State at 1 PM.

MCC's next home game will be Monday, when they host Marion Military at 1 PM.
