MCC golf claims top ten finish


(FAIRHOPE, Ala.) - The Meridian Community College golf team completed the second round of the Faulkner State Elizabeth Kling Golf Tournament with a team score of 315.

The event was played at Rock Creek, par 72 at 6, 962 yards. The Eagles finished the event with a top ten placing, finished in sixth place.

MCC finished with a two day team total of 631.

The Eagles were led by Cory Willliamson who shot 156 (74-82). Garrett Westbrook (80-77) and Clay Bounds (80-77) both shot 157. Nick Hawks shot 164 (82-82). Jarrod Moulds shot 164 (85-79).

Central Alabama won the team championship with a 599 two day total. University of Mobile claimed runner up with a 609.

Spencer Baldwin of Brevard (FL) College won the individual medalist with a 147 (74-73).

MCC will be in action on Monday-Tuesday at Northwood Country Club when they host the Lou Hart Invitational.
