MCC Loses Second Game At LSU-Eunice

The Meridian Community College Eagles dropped its second game of a three-game series at LSU-Eunice Friday night by a final score of 10-2. MCC is now 23-16 overall for the season after the eight-run loss and LSU-Eunice improved to 34-3 for the 2012 season. The Eagles have now lost four straight games after the loss Friday night.
The Eagles finished the game with just five hits and the Bengals ended the game with 10 hits. The story of the game for the Eagles was the pitching staff allowing 11 walks and Meridian had four errors on defense in the game.
Gabe Woods led MCC with a two-run single that came with two outs in the first inning that gave the Eagles its only lead of the game. LSU-Eunice scored five runs in the fourth inning and never looked back in taking the 10-2 victory over Meridian.
Johnny Tolson, Wade Wass, Jonathan Youngblood, and Blake Barrow each ended the game with one hit apiece. Stuart Turner led LSU-Eunice with three base hits and drove in one run, while Dalton Herrington had two base hits.
Andrew Chesteen suffered the pitching loss for MCC, while Brady Wilson notched the pitching win for the Bengals.
The final game of the series will take place Saturday at 1 p.m.
