MCC Golf Ready To Host Lou Hart Invitational

From School Reports

The top ranked MCC golf team will host the 4th Annual Lou Hart Invitational Monday and Tuesday at Northwood Country Club. The event is named after former Mississippi legend and former MCC head coach, Lou Weddington Hart.

"It's a great to host our annual spring invitational to honor former head coach, Lou Hart,” said current MCC head golf coach Clinton Hales. “She meant so much to the MCC golf program and it's only fitting to hold this event at her home course of Northwood.”

The Eagles are fresh off their most impressive victory of the season after a come from behind win at the Ron Marshall Spring Fling in Scottsboro, AL last week. The Eagles outlasted 19 other teams to post their 5th victory of the season. The lineup this week will be headlined by Freshman sensation Dylan Brown, who has already captured two individual titles thus far on the season. Sophomore Jake Stirling will play in the 2 spot, while T.J. Morgan, Easton Key, and Alex Grannon will round out the starting five for MCC. The Eagles will also send a pair of Freshman in Gafford White and Tate Hughes, who will be playing as individuals.

"We hope to continue to play well this week. Sometimes it's hard to do that coming off of a big victory like we had last week, but we're going to give it our best and hopefully come out on top," added Hales.

Darton College, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Spring Hill College, Faulkner State CC, and Georgia Military College will round out the field. Play will begin with 36 holes on Monday and conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday.
