MCC Walks Away With Win Over Shelton State

The Meridian Community College Eagles scored a run with the bases loaded in the bottom of the tenth inning to walk away with a 7-6 victory over Shelton State on Tuesday night at Scaggs Field. Dustin James drew the bases loaded walk in the tenth inning to score Dallas Hannah from third base to seal the victory for MCC. Meridian (17-10) has now won six straight games and its last three wins have come in the final at-bat.

Hannah led the charge for MCC with four hits in the game and Gabe Woods added a pair of hits, to go along with a pair of RBI’s. Wade Wass added an RBI double in the victory for the green and white. The Eagles finished the game with 13 hits and Shelton State had eight hits in the loss.

Josh Lee picked up the pitching win out of the bullpen for the Eagles by working 2 1/3 innings and collecting three strikeouts.

MCC will return to action on Thursday at Scaggs Field against Mineral Area (MO.) and the game time has not yet been determined.
