MCC Baseball Falls To Ellsworth CC

The Meridian Community College Eagles dropped its final game of the weekend to Ellsworth Community College by a final score of 9-7. The Eagles dropped its overall record to 11-10 with the loss and MCC lost two of three games to finish the weekend. The Eagles will return to action Wednesday for a doubleheader at Faulkner State beginning at 1 p.m. MCC will return to Scaggs Field next weekend for a three-game series with Pensacola State College beginning on Friday at 4 p.m. The Eagles will finish the series with the Buccaneers on Saturday with a doubleheader at noon.
MCC finished the game with 14 hits and the Panthers ended the game with 11 hits. Wade Wass led the charge for the Eagles by driving in three runs on two hits, including his eighth home run of the season that came in the third inning for MCC. Jake Ratz led the way for Ellsworth with a two-run home run and Patrick Riewer added a two-run homer in the road win for Ellsworth (4-1).
