MCC basketball sweeps Wallace-Selma

MERIDIAN —The Meridian Community College basketball teams continued their strong starts Wednesday night, sweeping host Wallace-Selma.

In the women’s game, MCC used a 19-point performance from freshman Norianna Haynes, a Northeast Lauderdale product, to down Selma 75-68.

Arnissa Galloway added 17 for the Eagles, who improved to 8-3. Chasity Kearney chipped in with 14, Tay Odneal scored 11 and Galloway also hauled in 13 rebounds.

In the men’s game, MCC improved to 9-1 with an 86-69 rout of Wallace-Selma.

Both MCC teams host Mid-South on Saturday at Graham Gymnasium.
