MCC men defeat NE Mississippi
The Meridian Community College Eagles, under the direction of first year head coach Jeff Walker, have now extended their winning streak to five after a 76-69 win over Northeast Mississippi Community College.
The Eagles led by two points at halftime, 31-29. MCC then owned a five point advantage in the final half, 45-40 for the 76-69 win.
MCC was led by four players in double digits with points. Brandon Battle scored 17 points, Trent Tucker had 14 points, Nick Watkins had 11 points, and Travis Fredimon had 10 points. Watkins had a double double with 12 rebounds, Fredimon also had a double double with 10 rebounds.
Northeast Mississippi was led by John David Little who had 19 points.
MCC improved to 8-1 and will be in action Wednesday when they travel to Wallace Selma, a team they defeated in the season opener, 88-68.
