MCC men win shootout over Jones County, 113-107
(MERIDIAN) - The Meridian Community College men won their third consecutive ballgame Moonday night as they defeated in-state rival, Jones Country Junior College.
MCC led at the half, 61-55.
The Eagles then matched the Bobcats 52-52 in the second half to win a high scoring affair, 113-107.
The Eagles were led by freshman Deangelo Priar and sophomore Emmanuel Donald. Priar had 29 points and 5 rebounds while Donald had 24 points and 5 rebounds.
Freshman Travis Fredimon had 19 points and freshman Pierre Crawford added 12 points for the Eagles.
Jones County’s Brandon Givens led all scorers with 32 points.
With the win, MCC improves to 6-1 on the season and will face New Horizon on Saturday in the Graham Gymnasium at 2:00 p.m.
