MCC’s Vogel named NJCAA Women's Soccer Player of the Week

(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.) – Striker Anastasia Vogel of Meridian Community College (Miss.) has been named NJCAA Women’s Soccer Player of the Week by the National Junior College Athletic Association.

Vogel, a native of Pontotoc, Miss., led her team to a 3-0 record for the week after scoring six of the teams thirteen goals versus opponents. In the first two games, Vogel notched all four goals for Meridian as they went on to win 3-1 and 1-0. The 5’9” sophomore is also the team’s leading scorer for the season with eight goals.

Vogel will lead the Lady Eagles in a rivalry match-up this afternoon vs. Jones County Junior College at 3 p.m.
