Eagles Defeat Southwest Mississippi

(Summit, MS) - The Meridian Community College men's soccer team won 5-1 Tuesday afternoon against Southwest Mississippi Community College.

Sophomore Leon Powell had two goals and an assist. Powell is now tied for leading scorer in the NJCAA with 11 goals.

Fellow sophomore Valentino Fogo matched Powell with two goals and an assist. Freshman Steven Smith also scored a goal for MCC.

Sophomore Jake Watkins and freshman Dennys Quezada both had an assist.

The Eagles, who are now 3-3-1, prepare to travel to Concordia next Tuesday, meanwhile the Lady Eagles will be in action Thursday at 3 pm when they host in-state rival, Jones County Junior College.
