MCC women rout Georgia Perimeter

The Meridian Community College women jumped all over visiting Georgia Perimeter in the first half Saturday and coasted to a 68-47 victory in area junior-college basketball action.

MCC, which improved to 19-6 on the season, roared to a 37-17 halftime lead and never looked back.

Former Meridian High School standout Tiara Parker scored 13 points to pace the Lady Eagles, while LaQuita Burrough tallied 11. Jerrika Williams added seven points and a game-high 11 rebounds while Eryn Gray and Sharda'e Johnson chipped in six points apiece and Brittany Bohannon contributed five.

Schatavia Gray led Georgia Perimeter with 14 points.

MCC is in action again Monday, traveling to Jones County at 6 p.m.
