Former Lady Eagle named Player of the Week

Former Meridain Community College basketball player and current Belhaven College senior guard, Holly Dial, was recently selected as Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Basketball Player of the week for her efforts during the week of February 2nd through February 8th.

In two games Dial averaged 18 points and tossed in a career high of 24 points against Dillard University. She also had a career best seven three pointers in eight attempts against the Lady Blue Devils.

For the week, Dial made a total of nine three pointers in two games.

On the season, Dial is averaging 8.5 points per game and leads the team with a three point shooting percentage of 41.1 percent. She is also tops on the team in free throw shooting at 73.4 percent.

The Lady Blazers are currently 15-9 overall and 6-6 in the GCAC. Belhaven will host William Carey Thursday night beginning at 5:30 PM.
