MCC baseball sweeps in Florida, faces Alabama Southern before Rush

Former West Lauderdale standout, Tyler Vick, was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the 10th inning with the bases loaded to drive in the winning run for Meridian Community College Sunday night. The 15-14 win over Shelton State gave the Eagles their third straight victory in as many days as MCC improved to 3-2 on the year.

The Eagles swept through the Northwest Florida Tournament with three big wins: 18-2 over Alabama Southern (FRI), 13-1 over Northwest Florida (SAT) and 15-14 over Shelton State (SUN).

Today (TUES) the Eagles will be on the road for a double-header against Alabama Southern starting at noon.

The games will be broadcast by WMER 1390 AM from Monroeville, AL.

Following today’s contest with Alabama Southern, MCC will return home to Scaggs Field for their first home series, the Rush Tournament.
