Meridian sweeps Hinds, preps for Homecoming

Leading by three points, Meridian Community College went on a 20-8 run to end the game as the Lady Eagles extended their winning streak to four games at Hinds Thursday night.

With the 80-65 victory, MCC improved to 16-6 overall.

Tiara Parker, a former Meridian High standout, led the Lady Eagles with 21 points.

Former Philadelphia star, Tiara Logan and Shard'ae Johnson each pumped in a dozen. Brittany Bohannon added nine points.

Meridian led 42-33 at halftime.

Hinds men 74

The men made it a clean sweep of Hinds Thursday night as MCC took a nine-point decision.

Mario Luckett (30 points and 11 rebounds) and Brandon Baker (16 and 11) both had a double-double for the Eagles (12-9).

Otis Williams tacked on 16 points for MCC, which will host Delgado Saturday for homecoming.
