MCC women rebound at Georgia Perimeter

The Meridian Community College women's basketball team bounced back from its second-half collapse Thursday against Jones County to down host Georgia Perimeter 71-58 on Saturday.

The Lady Eagles (13-6) flew out to a 42-32 halftime lead before holding Georgia Perimeter to just 26 points in the second half. Against the Lady Bobcats on Thursday, MCC allowed a 12-point lead in the first half evaporate in a 72-69 loss.

However, with former Kemper County standout Brittany Bohannon leading four Lady Eagles in double figures, there was no letdown Saturday. Bohannon scored 13 to lead a balanced MCC attack. Valencia Rice and Jerrika Williams added 11 points each and Sharda'e Johnson scored 10.

MCC continues its road trip today at Horizon.
