MCC Golf Receives High National Marks
From School Reports
The Meridian Community College golf team is enjoying its
recent success after winning the East Central Community College Tournament by
25 strokes last week and the team is being rewarded with a high national
ranking. The MCC golf team is ranked ninth in the most recent Division II
Golfstat Poll that was released recently.
The team also learned that sophomore Connor Cavin was
also ranked 25th among all players in the country according to Golfstat. Cavin
is currently shooting an average score of 74 for the season in all tournaments
played for the Eagles.
MCC will return to action this weekend when it travels to
Jonesboro, AR to compete in the Arkansas State Red Wolf Classic. The Eagles
will be the lone junior college team competing among the field this weekend
among some of the top Division I teams in the nation.
