MCC Tennis Falls To ICC

The Meridian Community College men's and women's tennis teams lost to Itawamba Community College on Tuesday with all matches being played at the Northeast Tennis Center.

The men won only one match at number one singles with Shane Trebisky taking a 6-3, 6-1 win over Nathaniel Pinkney. 

The women lost in heartbreaking fashion 5-4.  Paige Gibson pulled out a huge win at number one singles against Taylor Patterson in a three setter.  Jennifer Smith pulled out a win at number three singles as did Jami Daugherty at number six.  The only win in women's doubles came from the duo of Caroline Terry and Paige Gibson.

Meridian returns to action Saturday at against Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College at 1 p.m. The matches against MGCCC on Saturday will be played at the MCC Tennis Courts on campus adjacent to the Damon Fitness Center.
