MCC Baseball Ranked 19th Nationally by NJCAA

The Meridian Community College baseball team has enjoyed a
great deal of success over the past two weeks on the diamond and that success
has been rewarded with a national ranking. The Eagles are currently ranked 19th
nationally according to the latest NJCAA Division II Baseball Poll that was
released on Wednesday afternoon by the national office.
The Eagles cracked the national poll after winning five of
its six games last week and four of those games were MACJC victories. MCC
won two games each over Spring Hill, Northeast Mississippi, and Southwest
Mississippi to help the squad propel into the national poll. MCC is coming off
a doubleheader split (7-9, 8-7) on the road Tuesday at East Mississippi
Community College.
MCC is currently 21-10 overall for the season and 9-5 in
conference action and will return to action Thursday afternoon with a
conference doubleheader against Pearl River Community College. The first pitch
of Game One between MCC and PRCC is set for 4 p.m. at Scaggs Field. The
Eagles are currently sitting in third place overall in the MACJC standings
after its doubleheader split on Tuesday with the Lions.
