MCC Basketball Falls At Co-Lin

The Meridian Community College Lady Eagles entered play
Monday night needing a victory on the road at Co-Lin to clinch a spot in the
postseason, but things didn't go as planned for the green and white.
Co-Lin stormed away in the second half of play to take a
98-85 victory over the Lady Eagles. The 23rd ranked Lady Wolves remained
perfect for the season with 22-0 overall record and a 13-0 record inside MACJC
South Division play. MCC dropped to 14-9 overall and 7-6 in league play.
Co-Lin has already clinched the South Division crown and
will host the MACJC State Tournament which begins next week in Wesson. MCC will
now need a victory this Thursday night at home against Pearl River Community College
to clinch a spot in the State Tournament. The game is set to tip at 5:30.
The Lady Eagles currently sit one game ahead of Southwest
Mississippi Community College heading into Thursday night after the Lady Bears
lost on the road at Jones Monday evening by a final of 80-60. Southwest will
play host to East Central Community College in Summit Thursday night at 5:30.
Miaya Crowder finished the game by leading MCC in scoring
against Co-Lin Monday night with 19 points, while Londyn Thomas and Kristen McBeath
each scored 17 in the loss.
The MCC men also dropped its road game at Co-Lin by a
final of 67-52.
The Eagles fell to 8-13 and 2-11 inside the MACJC South
Division play, while Co-Lin improved to 8-14 and 6-7 in league play. The MCC
men will conclude the 2015 regular season Thursday night by playing host to
Pearl River beginning at 7:30.
