MCC Golf Places Third At Gulf Coast Tournament

The Meridian Community College golf team placed third at MACJC event #1 on Monday afternoon. The team improved by 16 strokes on the second and final day of play at the event which was hosted by Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Mississippi Gulf Coast captured first place and Co-Lin secured second place in the tournament.

The Eagles were led by Connor Cavin who shot 76, 73 to place fifth overall and gain a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Luther Thompson tied for 14th by shooting 78, 76 and Clayton Gray tied for 16th by shooting 81, 74. Rounding out the team scores were Grant Renegar with a 78, 83 and Austin Terrell with a 92, 74.

Playing as individuals, Colby Evans shot 79, 76 to tie for 16th and Ty Medling shot 80, 81 to tie for 38th.

MCC will return to action on February 21-22 at Rock Creek Golf Course hosted by Faulkner State Community College.
