MCC Basketball Falls At Southwest

The Meridian Community College Lady Eagles returned to action Thursday night looking to close the gap in the race for the MACJC South Division crown, but things didn't go as planned.

The Lady Eagles traveled to Southwest Mississippi Community College Thursday night and suffered a difficult 79-65 loss at the hands of the Lady Bears. MCC was led in scoring by Miaya Crowder and Londyn Thomas who each finished with 16 points apiece.

The MCC women dropped its overall record to 13-7 and 6-4 inside the MACJC South Division.

The MCC men also dropped its road game at Southwest Mississippi Thursday night by a final of 71-62.

The Eagles dropped to 8-10 overall and 2-8 in league play.

Both teams will return to action Monday night at home against Hinds Community College. The women will tip at 5:30 followed by the men at 7:30.
