MCC Basketball Splits Home Set With Co-Lin

The Meridian Community College Eagles notched its first
MACJC South Division victory of the season by holding on to defeat Co-Lin
Thursday night by a final of 67-65 inside the Graham Gymnasium. The win for the
Eagles moved their overall record to 7-7 and 1-5 in league play, while Co-Lin
dropped to 3-12 and 1-5 inside divisional play.
Sophomore Brandon Daniels once again led the way in scoring
for MCC with 18 points, while Devonte Brewster ended the game with 13 points
off the bench for the Eagles. Freshman Ken’Darrius Hamilton also turned in a
solid performance for the home squad with 13 points off the bench for MCC.
The MCC women didn’t find the same fortune Thursday night as
Co-Lin took the victory by a final count of 82-64. Sophomore Londyn Thomas led
the way in scoring for the second consecutive game with 19 points, while
sophomore Miaya Crowder ended the night with 15 points. Freshman Tytianna Hall
also finished the game with 15 points off the bench for the Lady Eagles. The
MCC women dropped its overall record to 11-5 and 4-2 in division play, while
Co-Lin improved to 15-0 and 6-0 in league play.
MCC will return to the court next Monday for a road
doubleheader at Pearl River Community College beginning at 5:30.
