MCC Golf Opens 2015 Season

The Meridian Community College Eagle golf team stumble out of the blocks during its first tournament of the spring Sunday afternoon. The Eagles shot 313 as a team for the first round of the MACJC #1 Tournament hosted by Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. The Eagles currently sit in 4th place after the opening round of the event. The first round was played at Grand Bear golf course and the second round will be played Monday at Pine Burr Country Club in Wiggins, MS.

Connor Cavin led Meridian with a 76 with Grant Renegar and Luther Thompson each close behind with a 78. Clayton Gray shot 81 and Austin Terrell shot 92. Playing as individuals, Colby Evans shot 79 and Ty Medling shot 80.

Mississippi Gulf Coast currently leads the tournament with Copiah-Lincoln Community College in second place.
