Lane Earns MACJC Pitcher of the Week

The Meridian Community College baseball team opened the 2015 season on Saturday by earning a split (6-9, 6-2) with Alabama Southern Community College and one player from the team is being recognized for his outstanding effort in the first win of the season for the Eagles. Former West Lauderdale standout Ryan Lane was announced as the MACJC Pitcher of the Week Tuesday afternoon as voted on by the Sports Information Directors of the MACJC.

Lane picked up his first collegiate victory by pitching MCC past Alabama Southern in Game Two of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon by a final score of 6-2. Lane pitched 5 2/3 innings with seven strikeouts, one walk, one earned run, and allowed four hits.

Lane will now be nominated for the NJCAA National Pitcher of the Week which will be announced later this week.
