MCC Basketball Earns Road Sweep

The Meridian Community College Lady Eagles were looking
to bounce back into to the win column Monday night after dropping its first
game of the season to Holmes Community College last Thursday evening. The Lady
Eagles rebounded in a big way with a
convincing 71-50 road victory over Bishop State Community College Monday
evening in Mobile. The win over Bishop State also secured the season sweep for
MCC in the season series with the Lady Wildcats.
Freshman Tytiana Hall led the way in scoring for the Lady
Eagles with 18 points, while sophomore sensation Miaya Crowder followed with 13
points.
The MCC women improved to 4-1 overall with the road
victory and will travel to Itawamba Community College Thursday night at
5:30.
The MCC men also continued its winning ways Monday night
by defeating Bishop State 69-46 to also sweep its season series with the
Wildcats.
Steven Brand led the way with 15 points for the Eagles,
while Harold Cardwell followed with 13 points. Ken'Darrius Hamilton had another
solid night down low for MCC with 12 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore
Brandon Daniels also scored in double figures for the Eagles with 11 points and
pulled down seven rebounds.
The Eagles are now 3-1 overall for the season and will
return to action Thursday night on the road at Itawamba Community College at
7:30.
