Pickering Named MACJC POTW
From School Reports
Meridian Community College goalkeeper Chanler Pickering
received a distinguished honor Monday afternoon by being named the MACJC
Goalkeeper of the week as voted by the sports information directors inside the
conference.
Pickering
will also be eligible for the National Goalkeeper of the week after helping
pace the MCC Lady Eagles to a pair of conference victories last week.
Pickering
collected 20 saves total in the two wins and finished with a high of 14 saves
in a 2-1 victory over Pearl River Community College at home last Wednesday.
MCC
will conclude the 2014 regular season Wednesday night at 5 p.m. against
Southwest Mississippi Community College. The Lady Eagles need a victory
combined with a loss by Pearl River to clinch the second seed inside the MACJC
South Division standings. The team that finishes with the second seed will host
the MACJC Quarterfinal round of the playoffs at home October 28.
