MCC Splits Road Games With Delgado

The Meridian Community College Lady Eagles continued its solid play as of late by taking a 69-45 victory over Delgado last night in Miss-Lou Conference basketball action. Chasity Kearney led the way in scoring for the Lady Eagles with 13 points and Norianna Haynes added 11 points in the road win. Arnissa Galloway and Gelese Lampton each finished the game with 10 points. Meridian improved to 10-9 overall for the season and 2-0 in Miss-Lou Conference play. The Lady Eagles have now won five of its last six games.
The Lady Eagles will return to the floor this Saturday on the road against Baton Rouge Community College. The game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start and will be played at Mississippi College in Clinton, MS.

The Dolphins scored a three-point basket at the end of regulation to escape with a home victory over the Eagles. Kevin Williams drained a three-pointer with seven seconds left in the game to tie the game at 74-74, but Richard Bienvenu hit the game winning basket with no time remaining to propel DCC to the win. Kaylim Noel led MCC in scoring with 17 points.
Meridian (5-14, 0-2) will return to action this Saturday on the road against Baton Rouge Community College. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start and will be played at Mississippi College in Clinton, MS.
