MCC Basketball returns to action Thursday

MCC vs East Mississippi in “Battle of Hwy 45”

The Meridian Community College basketball teams return to action Thursday when they travel north to face long time rival, East Mississippi Community College in Scooba.

“The Battle of Highway 45” will be a rematch of a pair of games played at the Graham Gymnasium back on November 11 when EMCC swept Meridian. The Lady Lions defeated the Lady Eagles 86-71, while the EMCC men defeated MCC 94-74.

Thursday’s games will be played on the EMCC campus at Keyes T. Currie Coliseum. The women are slated to tip off at 5:30 pm, while the men get underway at 7:30 pm.

Lady Eagles enter the contest 12-4 while the EMCC Lady Lions are 6-5.

The Eagles are 10-5 and will face #22 EMCC Lions who have slipped to 10-2 on the year.
