Eagles clipped in overtime

The Meridian Community College men's basketball team lost 137-128 in overtime Wednesday night at home to Mississippi Elite Prep School.
Mississippi Elite nailed 43 of 52 free throws while MCC made just 17 of 24 in falling to 14-11.
Otis Williams scored a team-high 27 points for MCC, while Northeast Lauderdale star Tommy Tillman scored a double-double with 24 points and 10 assist. MCC's next action is in the Miss-Lou Tournament at Shreveport, starting Tuesday.
In women’s basketball action, the Lady Eagles lost their second consecutive game as they fell on the road 115-102 at LSU-Eunice Wednesday night.
The Lady Eagles are now 19-8 and will host Wallace-Hanceville in the final home game for Graham Gymnasium for 2009 on Saturday at 2 p.m. Then, like the men’s team, the Lady Eagles will prepare for the Miss-Lou Conference Tournament at Shreveport next week.
