MCC sweeps Bishop State

Meridian Community College took a sweep of Bishop State Monday, with the Eagles and Lady Eagles taking 20- and 10-point victories, respectively.

Led by former Northeast Lauderdale standout Tommy Tillman's 23 points, the Eagles dropped the homestanding Wildcats 69-49. He added six rebounds.

Travis Thompson chipped in a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards.

Meridian improved to 4-3 on the year and will host Southern Union tonight at 7 p.m.

The Lady Eagles won 60-50.

Brittany Bohannon, a former Kemper County star, scored 13 points, while LaQuita Burrough had 10.

With the win, the Lady Eagles improved to 5-2 and will take a break until their Dec. 6 meeting with Wallace-Hanceville.
