Lady Eagles get back on winning track

The Meridian Community College women's basketball team got back on the winning track Monday night with a 90-68 thumping of visiting LSU-Eunice at MCC's Graham Gymnasium.
After back-to-back losses to nationally-ranked squads, MCC jumped to a 48-36 lead in the first half and improved to 4-2 on the season. The visiting Lady Bengals fell to 2-5.
Former Meridian High School standout Tiara Logan scored a game-high 19 points to lead MCC, which got 37 points from its Philadelphia duo of freshman guard Tiara Logan and sophomore post player Natonya McWilliams.
Logan scored 18 points and McWilliams had 17, while freshman Brittany Bohannon of Kemper County was also in double figures with 11 points. Jerrika Williams has 12 rebounds for MCC.
LSU-Eunice got 14 points from Quanessha Batiste.
The Lady Eagles are at home again tonight, hosting Alabama Southern at 6 p.m.
The Alabama Southern game will be broadcast on WMER 1390 AM and also audio can be heard on Comcast Cable Channel 12.
