MCC downs Southern Union
(MERIDIAN)- The Meridian Community College men's basketball team turned in a dominating performance Tuesday night defeating Southern Union State Community College by 32 points.
The Eagles won 93-61 at home just one night after a 20 point win on the road at Bishop State.
MCC led Southern Union 42-24 at halftime.
Tuesday night MCC was led by former Northeast Lauderdale standout, Tommy Tillman. Tillman had 21 points, 14 of which came in the second half.
Fellow Eagles sophomore, Travis Thompson scored 20 points in MCC's victory. Former Bay Springs player, Patrick McCurtis added 16 points for MCC.
Montrell Thorton of Southern Union led all scorers with 24 points.
With the win, MCC improved to 5-3 and will play at Wallace Selma Wednesday, December 3rd.
