MCC Lady Eagles win South Division
Former Bay Springs standout NaDosha Strickland ended her home career at Meridian Community College with a bang Thursday.
On ”Sophomore Night,” MCC’s pre season All American exploded for a game-high 37 points as the Lady Eagles claimed a 19-point victory over visiting Gulf Coast, 94-75.
With the win, MCC improved to 21-4 (11-3) and captured the programs first ever MACJC South Division Championship. The Lady Eagles will play as the No. 1 seed from the South in the State Tournament on Tuesday vs. the No. 4 seed from the North, East Mississippi. This will be the third meeting between EMCC and MCC this season. The Leady Eagles swept the previous two regular season meeting by a combined score of 149-114. MCC’s match up with East Mississippi beings at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The MACJC State Tournament is being played at Itawamba CC.
