MCC softball host Rush Inv this weekend

The Meridian Community College softball team picked up their first two wins of the season on Tuesday, routing visiting Bishop State 22-3 in the opener and closing the double-header with a 7-1 win. The Lady Eagles now prepare to host the 2008 MCC/Rush Invitational Tourney this Friday and Saturday at Northeast Park.

Participating teams include: Bevill State Community College-Sumiton, AL; Carl Albert State College-Poteau, OK; Central Alabama Community College-Alexander City, AL; Copiah – Lincoln Community College-Wesson, MS; Meridian Community College-Meridian, MS; and Northeast Mississippi Community College-Booneville, MS.

Action was scheduled to begin Friday morning but due to weather the brackets are being rescheduled to play on Friday afternoon and then on Saturday.
