MCC Lady Eagles improve to 10-1
(GALLATIN, Tenn) - The Meridian Community College women ran their record to 10-1 on the season with a 78-57 win over home standing Volunteer State Thursday night in Gallatin, TN.
MCC jumped out to a 33-25 lead in the first half and rode 20 points and 15 rebounds from Jennifer Wair to the win.
NaDosha Strickland also scored 20 points, while MCC freshman Tiara Parker scored 17 points.
Volunteer State (2-10) got 19 points from Tranisha Benton.
Meridian returns home to host Hinds Monday in its South Division opener at MCC’s Graham Gymnasium at 6 p.m.
The Eagles were not as fortunate as they dropped a two-point decision to the host squad Thursday in Gallatin, TN.
MCC, which fell to 6-5 on the season, got a game high 27 points from sophomore Regis Huddleston.
Otis Williams scored 15 points for the Eagles, while Mario Luckett had 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Travis Thompson contributed 11 points.
Volunteer State (5-14) used a balanced attack led by Astral Guerrier’s 14 points.
MCC host Hinds Monday night at 8 p.m.
