MCC splits with Coahoma

(CLARKSDALE, Miss.) –Meridian Community College Lady Eagles basketball team defeated Coahoma Community College on the road Saturday night by a score of 78-68.

MCC’s NaDosha Strickland led all scorers with 22 points, while teammate Jennifer Wair scored 14 points and Dana Parker added 10 points for MCC.

Wair and Jenia Babina each pulled 11 rebounds while Wair had 6 steals and Babina had 6 assists for MCC.

Keisha Taylor scored 15 points for Coahoma.

The Lady Eagles finished the semester with a 9 – 1 record and play again at Volunteer State on January 3rd.

In men’s action, Jason Windom led Meridian with 13 points, but the home-standing Coahoma Tigers defeated MCC 58-53.

Otis Williams scored 12 points for Meridian and dished out 7 assists. Regis Huddleston added 11 points for MCC.

MCC fell to 6-4 on the season and will take a break from action during the Christmas Holidays. The Eagles play again January 3rd at Volunteer State.
