MCC basketball sweeps Coahoma
The Meridian Community College Eagles got back in the win column this past weekend with a 56-47 victory over visiting Coahoma Community College.
Freshman Jason Windom led Meridian with 25 points, while Otis Williams scored 10 points and dished out 7 assists for the Eagles. Travis Thompson pulled 9 rebounds for MCC, while Windom had 7 rebounds.
The Eagles (3-2) return to action on Tuesday, November 20th at 7:00 pm when they travel to Marion (AL) Institute.
MCC lost to Marion back on Nov. 10th, 79-77.
The Meridian Community College Lady Eagles picked up their second consecutive victory with a 95-49 win over visiting Coahoma Community College last Saturday. Tiara Parker, of Meridian, led all scorers with 17, while Monique Clayton and Dana Parker added 16 points apiece. Jenia Babina also scored 10 points. Jennifer Wair and Jerrika Williams each pulled 12 rebounds. Nadine Serrano and Maranda Anderson had 6 assists apiece for MCC.
The Lady Eagles (3-1) host the Rush Invitational on November 23rd and November 24th. Games begin at 4:00 pm each day with MCC playing at 6:00 pm both days.
