From School Reports
The Meridian Community College baseball team returned to
the diamond on Friday afternoon to open a six-game road trip in MACJC action
and the first stop was at Holmes Community College in Goodman, MS. The Eagles

conference action. The Eagles will continue its current six-game road trip on
Wednesday (April 19) at East Mississippi Community College for a doubleheader
beginning at 4 p.m.
The Eagles got the day started on Friday with an
unbelievable comeback in Game One to grab a 13-12 victory over Holmes. MCC
scored five runs in the top of the ninth inning that would of course propel the
team to the one-run win. JD Gann got the scoring started in the final frame on
a two-run homer and former Northeast Lauderdale star Landon Keller provided the
big blow of the game later in the ninth on a three-run homer that guided MCC to
the win.
Gann also added a solo homer in Game One and had an RBI
single in the first inning. CJ Hughes knocked in a pair of runs in Game One on
a double, while Garrett Busby had a three-run homer in the victory.
MCC finished off the sweep of the Bulldogs on Friday in
Game Two with a 10-7 victory. The Eagles built an early 3-0 lead after one
complete inning and that proved to be enough in the three-run win.
Trace Jordan finished Game Two by knocking in a pair of
runs on a triple, while Blake Morris had a two-run homer. Milton Smith also had
a solo homer in the Game Two victory and JD Gann collected an RBI in Game Two
