MCC Basketball Loses Heartbreaker

The Meridian Community College Lady Eagles saw its season
come to an end Thursday night in the quarterfinal round of the 2015 Region 23
Tournament in Clinton, MS on the campus of Mississippi College. Northwest
Mississippi Community College defeated MCC on a last second basket to win by a
final score of 77-75 to end the season for the green and white. MCC finished
the 2014-2015 season with an overall record of 17-11, while Northwest improved
to 19-6. The Lady Rangers will now play Jones County Junior College in the
semifinal round of the tournament Friday night at 8 p.m.
Freshman Tytianna Hall led the way in scoring for MCC with
25 points and eight rebounds, while sophomore Miaya Crowder ended her career at
MCC by scoring 18 points in the loss. Sophomore Londyn Thomas also played her
final game for the Lady Eagles and scored 12 points.
MCC will lose three sophomores from the 2014-2015 squad
which include: Crowder, Thomas, and Kristin Dixon-McBeath.
