MCC Softball Falls At Holmes

The Meridian Community College softball team returned to
the field Wednesday afternoon looking to reverse its fortunes to open the 2015
season. The Lady Eagles made a road trip to Holmes Community College on
Wednesday afternoon and came away with a pair of difficult loses.
MCC dropped Game One to Holmes by a 13-0 run rule
decision and lost in Game Two by a final of 12-11. The Lady Eagles lost Game
Two in 11 at the hands of the Lady Bulldogs.
MCC dropped to 1-7 overall for the season and will return
to action this weekend to host the annual Rush Invitational Tournament at Tommy
McDonald Field in Highland Park.
The Lady Eagles are scheduled to play four games during
the two-day event that begins Friday afternoon. MCC is scheduled to play
Shelton State Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. followed by a 3 p.m. game against
Bishop State. The Lady Eagles will conclude play in the tournament by playing
East Mississippi Saturday morning at 10 a.m. and Central Alabama later in the
day at 2 p.m.
