From School Reports

The Meridian Community College Eagles closed out the 2014 regular season in style by sweeping past Alabama Southern Community College (7-1) and Shelton State Community College (8-3) at Scaggs Field on Tuesday. MCC moved its overall record to 25-24 with the home sweep to ride a small winning streak heading into the postseason which begins this weekend.

MCC will open play in the 2014 Region 23 Division I Tournament this Friday at noon against Baton Rouge Community College. The Eagles will continue play in the tournament with a 7 p.m. contest Friday evening against the host Delgado Community College Dolphins.
