LSU-Eunice Completes Sweep Over MCC

The Meridian Community College Eagles entered its final
game of the weekend against LSU-Eunice looking to avoid a sweep at the hands of
the Bengals, but MCC would find the same results on Sunday.
The Bengals completed the sweep of MCC Sunday afternoon by
taking a 13-9 victory. The Eagles dropped its overall record to 23-24 with the
loss on Sunday to LSU-Eunice.
Kevin Hall led the way for MCC with three hits, including
a solo home run. Paul Angel added a two-run triple, while Dalton Thomas knocked
in a pair of runs for the Eagles on a single.
Brooks Balisterri checked in with a pair of singles,
while Michael Druhan and Garrett Larosa each had one single apiece
MCC finished the game game with nine total hits, but the
Eagles committed six errors in the field that proved to be costly.
Meridian will close out the 2014 regular season at home
Tuesday night against Alabama Southern at 6 p.m. The Eagles will then open up
postseason play in the 2014 Region 23 Tournament at Delgado Community College
on Friday. MCC will open play Friday at noon against Baton Rouge and will play
the host Dolphins later that evening at 7 p.m.
