From School Reports
The Meridian Community College softball program made a
little history on Wednesday afternoon at Tommy McDonald Field. The Lady Eagles
haven't enjoyed much success over the past few years, but that all changed with
its Region 23 doubleheader against Baton Rouge Community College.
MCC scored a doubleheader sweep (9-0, 7-3) over the Lady
Bears Wednesday afternoon to clinch the 2014 Division I Region 23 Championship.
The Lady Eagles will now advance to the District Playoffs next month which will
mark the first postseason appearance for the program since 2005.
