MCC Golf Finishes Final Round of Red Wolf Classic

The Meridian Community College golf team completed the final round of the 2014 Red Wolf Classic Tuesday afternoon hosted by Arkansas State University by finishing in 15th place among the 21 teams entered in the field.

The Eagles were the only junior college program represented in the field for the two-day event in Jonesboro, AR. MCC finished with a two-day total score of 922 (312-310-300) to finish one stoke ahead of Southern Illinois University.

Dallas Shepard completed the tournament with the best overall score for the Eagles with two-day total of 225 (77-76-72) which was good enough to tie him for 25th overall in the field.

Austin Terrell finished with a total score of 228 (75-79-74), while Ty Medling checked with a two-day total of 237 (79-83-75). Luther Thompson checked in with a 239 (81-76-82), while Nathan Kirkland finished with a 241 (83-79-79).

Arkansas State University won the overall team championship by firing a total score of 862 to finish 12 strokes ahead of Belmont University.

Former MCC star Easton Key finished tied for third among the field representing Arkansas State University with a two-day total of 215 (70-71-74). Hudson Carpenter of South Dakota State won the overall championship by firing a 211 (76-67-68).

MCC will return to action to take part in the District Tournament, April 14-15, which will be hosted by Darton College at the Stonebridge Country Club in Athens, GA
