Eagles prep to host Rush Tournament
Meridian Community College first year head baseball coach Chris Curry and his Eagles are set to host the Rush Tournament this weekend at Scaggs Field.
The tournament gets started Friday afternoon and wraps up on Sunday. Three teams are participating as five games will be played over three days.
MCC gets things underway at 2 p.m. on Friday as they host Wabash Valley College, who was ranked #21 in the NJCAA pre-season poll. The Warriors posted a 50-12 record last year as they were ranked #6 in the final poll.
Saturday will see a triple-header as the Eagles face Wabash Valley at 11 a.m. then MCC will face nearby rival, East Central Community College, at 1 p.m. The night-cap will feature ECCC and Wabash Valley at 4 p.m.
The Rush Tournament gets wrapped up Sunday as MCC will take on Wabash Valley for a final time at 1 p.m.
The Eagles enter the Rush Tournament with a 5-1 record.
