Lady Eagles defeat EMCC

(SCOOBA, Miss.) - The Meridian Community College Lady Eagles faced former MACJC rival- East Mississippi Community College Wednesday night in Scooba.

The game was close during the entire first half. MCC held a 2-point lead at halftime, 28-26.

In the second half the Lady Eagles extended their lead and won by double - digits over EMCC, 64-53.

Kierra Jones, of Starkville, led MCC with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Sharda’e Johnson added 13 points, while Brittany Bohannon added 11 points for MCC. Tiara Logan also scored 10 points for MCC.

Natalie Tate, from East Mississippi, led all scorers with 15 points.

With the win, MCC's women have now won two straight and improve to 3-1 on the season. EMCC drops to 3-3 on the year.

Both MCC teams will be in action Thursday night as they host Alabama Southern Community College in the season's first home men's and women's double header at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. in the Graham Gymnasium.
