Former MCC coach earns 400th career win at USM
Former Meridian Community College head baseball coach, Corky Palmer, won his 400th career game as the University of Southern Mississippi head coach as his Golden Eagles defeated Mississippi Valley State 11-0 Tuesday night.
Palmer, who led MCC’s baseball program from 1987 until1996, guided the MCC Eagles to three JUCO World Series appearances. At Meridian, Palmer also won over 400 career games (403) and ranks as the all-time winningest in MCC baseball history. Palmer was named the NJCAA National Coach of the Year two times and Region XXIII Coach of the Year three times while at MCC.
Palmer reached his 400th career win in 11 seasons at USM.
